I have experience improving the level of my students, their conversational skills, increasing their confidence when speaking or reading. They have learned many new words after introducing new topics in each lesson and they have been able to improve their listening understanding after practising watching short films, audios, between other resources. Also if you need to pass a certain exam, we can focus the lesson on that and practise different test models. Depending on your level and purpose, the methodology of the course will vary a little. For conversational Spanish I can show a video about a subject, it can be about something related to the current news or related to a subject that the student has interest in. We go through what the video explains and then we build up a conversation after answering some related questions, giving opinions or explaining what we know about it. Or also, the student can read a text about some news or an article about an specific subject and then the student can answer some related questions previously prepared. Afterwards we create new questions and we discuss the subject to practice conversational skills. Also we can practice conversational Spanish through role play games, creating an invented situation and developing a role. For beginners is important to start with basic questions and learning the basic verb tenses and practise them in a context that they can find useful. Apart from the verb tenses, I introduce in each lesson a new subject with new vocabulary to keep learning new words. I use text, videos , role play games, among other resources, to practice what the student have to learn. For a general Spanish course, I introduce in each lesson, a different subject to practice new vocabulary and new grammar and the student will learn it through different types of activities: it could be text reading, video understanding, answering questions to practice the new grammar, activities to relate, to fill in the gaps, role play games and also we can create a discussion about the subject using the new vocabulary and and grammar to learn. At the beginning of each lesson the student will do a little talk about what has he or she done the last days to practice the past tenses or what he or she is going to do on the weekend for example, to practice the future. And also we will review the vocabulary learnt in the previous lesson. For children, it depends on their age and level, but in general, I start with basic words such as colours, numbers and simple questions. The children would also read a good amount of texts that help to memorise how the words are written too and from then create activities that includes new vocabulary and that are interesting for the child. Also lots of role play games, story telling, short films and games to memorise vocabulary. The Spanish I speak is from Spain, the accent and vocabulary I teach it corresponds to the European accent but, I also teach other words and ways to pronounce a word corresponding to Spanish from Latin or South America.
