I finished my bachelor’s degree last year and immediately moved here to Taiwan. I live in a Chinese speaking environment and am learning Chinese currently so I can one day communicate easily with my in-laws. While we’re here, I have been teaching English from an arts and science approach to elementary students in a cram school. I also have been teaching elementary students online and tutoring a local artist to be able to talk to people about his work. I enjoy languages because they open up a new world, new cultures. Using another language enables one to talk directly to someone who would otherwise be outside of your reach. I further enjoy being able to talk to people in their native language without a translator. I want to give this experience to others as well.
