Lessons with John, 1. the Korean alphabet without romanization. => Learning the Korean alphabet with Roman letters will surely cause a lot of problems on pronunciation. I have my own methodology for foreinger people to learn the Korean alphabet without romanization. You will have a good pronunciation (and with Seoul accent!) 2. professional & experienced pedagogy. => My lessons are based on my 4,000 hours of experience (my students start from zero and become fluent) but also on my experience of learning French (I started my French from zero level (from the alphabet) and I am fluent now. You will certainly solve your problem of pronunciation, vocabulary, structure, grammar and make your sentences and expressions in Korean more natural. 3. between rigor and indulgence. => I will be demanding but at the same time I will be there to encourage you when you are in difficulty. As I have struggled with my French which is not my mother tongue and is completely different from my native language, I understand your difficulties very well. 4. tools to learn Korean efficiently and the culture is a bonus! => You don't only learn vocabulary and grammar but also Korean culture with a methodology to learn better. How to find the right word? How do you work on pronunciation or drama by yourself? You will have all the answers after a while. 5. Natural learning. =>Do you hate a vocabulary list? I hate it too! Come to the course, we'll learn in a 'natural' way. 6. The art of repetition. =>Of course! Repetition is important, but how many times should you repeat? And with what? Any text? If we understand a little bit about what our brain likes and dislikes, we can find the answer. If not, I'll give you the answer ;) 7. A 'card' to become fluent in Korean. =>I have a map that will guide you to become fluent in Korean. Certainly, it will take a lot of work, but if you are looking for a path without a map, it will take even more time. My programs are based on this map that I got from my experiences. The different types of homework personalised to your learning pace. =>If you have time and you are passionate, I will give you homework according to the program, which will help you to make progress outside the classroom. **Don't have time to do homework during the week? Don't worry, in that case there is another programme to suggest! 9. Together! => For me, private tuition is a communication, an exchange. In other courses, normally you are given 'information' (grammar, vocabulary etc) and then you accept it. Then you are happy to 'discover' these new things. But do you really master them? Do you easily reapply everything you've learned? Or are you still hesitating or perhaps thinking too much when you speak in Korean? Are you sure that your sentences are natural? In my classes, you will first get to distinguish between the stages of "discovering", "understanding", "familiarising" and "mastering" and then I will check each lesson whether you have mastered them or not. I will be there to listen to you and help you with your difficulties. We work 'together'. 10. Personalized lessons (not only the name of the lessons or the manuals) => Depending on the level of the students, I change the register and the level of vocabulary so that your brain can easily absorb the new things. If it's too difficult, the brain is tired so the learning becomes inefficient. If it's too easy, your brain doesn't work because it looks too easy and not too interesting.
